Select The Appropriate Size
Our Steel Box portable storage containers come in three sizes: 20 foot, 40 foot, and High Cube. Each of these three rental options is made with a heavy duty corrugated steel exterior and secure cargo door system that offers easy access and the most security for your belongings.
20ft Regular Units: Our 20-foot portable storage container is the most popular choice for small storage needs and for home storage. The average 20ft container usually contains the contents of 3-4 rooms and is great for downsizing from an apartment, combining self storage spaces or organizing seasonal excess.
40ft Regular Units: If you have a larger residential or commercial need, our 40-foot portable storage containers are the perfect medium-to-large solution. The average 40-foot container holds the contents of 7-8 rooms and is a good choice for whole-home moves, commercial storage or organizing a big home renovation.
High Cube Units: Need more vertical space? Our High Cube portable storage units have 12 inches more headroom. These containers are a great solution for unusually large items, stacking on two levels or large equipment. These containers have the same footprint as our 20ft or 40ft units but much more cubic space.

Flexible Uses – Containers can be used as construction site storage, temporary retail spaces, mobile offices, disaster relief centers, or long-term structures directly on site.
Conversion Options – Containers can be used as habitable living units, offices, studios, or even store fronts. Containers can also be combined together if you need to increase the amount of square footage you have to work with.
Durability – Cargo containers are made with heavy-gauge corrugated steel which helps to ensure the safety of the items stored inside. They also are designed to last for many years.

Used Shipping Container FAQs
How much do used shipping containers cost?
The price of a used shipping container depends on many factors. It depends on the size, condition, and distance the container has to be moved. The price for a small, new container delivered locally will start around $2500. The cost will increase based on your specific needs. Visit our available containers page to see our entire inventory and current prices.
Are shipping containers considered buildings?
It depends on the situation. In many cases, a converted home or office will require occupancy inspections and may also require permits from your city or county. Building permitting will most often occur with permanent containers that are installed with foundations. It is always best to check with your local planning department before beginning a project.
Are steel containers fireproof?
Steel is a fire resistant material. Steel itself will not burn, though at very high temperatures it can weaken, as can any metal. Steel containers will not melt like wood or other building materials. Building codes will require exits, emergency doors, and safety features regardless of the materials used to build.
How big is the inside of a cargo container?
Each container is 19'4″ long x 7'7″ wide x 7'8″ tall inside. Outside dimensions are 20'8"L x 8'0"W x 8'6"T. Total cubic capacity is approximately 1,172 cubic feet.
Can you cut holes in the side of a cargo container?
Once you have ordered the container you will want to drill a small starter hole in the location where you would like to create a larger opening. This will prevent the panel from splitting as you drill or cut your larger hole. A standard drill bit will work or you can use an impact rated bit. Ask at your hardware store if you are unsure of the proper size for the starter hole.
